Some lighter faire for the weekend.
I would like to take a moment to call out to all my Twitter friends and anyone else who might read this blog and also uses Twitter. In real world social interactions, rudeness and conduct of a less than gentile manner, is not generally tolerated. This is a good thing. I would like to see this standard maintained on the social network as well.
A great idea in my opinion was proposed to me by a gentleman on twitter who goes be the name deepfoo which I will quote below:
"I am adopting a zero tolerance policy for drive-by reputation shootings here. Gets a block and a toss"
He later followed it up by adding that he would do the same for anyone who did it to anyone else.

Now I have been known to enter into some disagreements that degenerated into foolishness, so this may be a difficult policy to adhere to, but I am going to adopt it none the less. I am fine with disagreements, it's inherent in every trade, but I will no longer tolerate rude behavior and like my friend I will block anyone who does it to me or in my presence to someone else.

How about it folks? I realize that the facts of life of social network sites allow the participation of the socially leperous. In real life interactions they are shunned, or otherwise excluded. If someone behaves in a rude manner at the party he is thrown out and not invited back. Let's endeavor to do the same social policing in our virtual interactions. It will raise the level of the discourse and add to the value that discourse provides.
